How to create product variants/inserts?

Product variants allow you to sell an additional selection of products as a combination with one product.

For example, a wooden bench with matching cushions. Or leather shoes with matching waterproofing spray.

Activate product variants

  1. Log in to the Admin Interface (my. ready2order.com)
  2. Click on Preferences (top right)
  3. Click on Features
  4. Activate the Ingredients by setting the slider to green (at the bottom)

Create product variants in the Admin Interface

  1. Click on Products
  2. Click on the yellow pencil next to the product you want to edit
  3. Click on Side Dishes/Variations and set the slider to green
  4. The fields below describe the settings in the POS:
    1. Width of the blue half: How wide the blue bars are
    2. Whether there must be a minimum selection of product variants
    3. Whether there is a maximum selection of product variants
  5. Create your personal product variants:
    1. Name: In our example pillow
    2. Barcode: Optionally enter a barcode
    3. Stock: Activate the stock if necessary
    4. Price: If necessary, activate manual pricing or enter a fixed price
  6. Click Save
If the selection button for the edited products in the POS is now two-colored (blue and white), everything worked.

Create product variants in the POS

  1. In the checkout interface, click on the blue area of your product when accepting the order
  2. Click on the green plus called "new product variant"
  3. Enter a name for the product variant
  4. Enter a price
  5. Click add
  6. By double-clicking on the new product variant, the actual product plus the product variant will be displayed on the invoice
  7. Now you can settle the bill
You can also mark the product as sold out by clicking on the black X. If you want to mark it as no longer sold out, simply click on the X again in this view.

Important: For products with variations/versions/inserts, manual price entry must not be activated, otherwise you will not see the variations in the POS! So make sure that a fixed price is stored for the main product. Manual price entry is possible for the variants.
