A customer wants to redeem a coupon, how do I proceed?
If your customer wants to pay with a coupon issued by you, you have two options:
- To keep track of your issued vouchers, you must check each voucher that is redeemed.
- If your customer wants to pay with a voucher that has not yet been entered into the system, you can also “Continue without verification ”. However, this voucher will then automatically be treated as a multi-purpose voucher.
Here you will find step-by-step instructions on how to redeem vouchers at the POS.
To do this, proceed as follows:
- Select products
- Go to the cashup menu
- Click Options
- Click on coupon
- As described above, there are now two ways to redeem the coupon
- Option 1: Check code:
- Enter the coupon code to identify the coupon
- For example, it may be sufficient to enter only the first three characters to clearly identify the voucher
- Click on Verify Code to search for the coupon
- If the coupon cannot yet be clearly identified, enter the next characters and click on Verify Code again
- The coupon must be entered in the ready2order system in order to be able to verify it with a unique code
- Option 2: Continue without verification:
- The coupon is not verified and is therefore treated as a multi-purpose voucher. Sales tax is charged according to the products to be paid for
- You can use this function if the coupon used for payment is not recorded in the system
- Option 1: Check code:
The calculation of sales tax depends on the type of coupon .
Single-purpose coupon:
The sales tax is determined and charged directly when the coupon is sold. This coupon can only be redeemed for products with the corresponding tax rate.
Therefore, when a single-purpose coupon is sold, it is counted directly towards the sales. When redeemed, the coupon is then offset so that the tax is not counted twice.
Multi-purpose coupon:
Sales tax is only charged when the coupon is redeemed. A multi-purpose coupon can be redeemed for products with any tax rate.
If you sell a multi-purpose coupon, it will be deducted from your sales at the end of the day. The sales will only be recorded in the cash register system when the coupon is redeemed.
