Troubleshooting SumUp Air Bluetooth connection issues

If the SumUp Bluetooth connection is not working properly or error message 1001 is displayed, resetting the SumUp Air terminal can help.

  1. Turn off Bluetooth on the device you have connected your SumUp Air to (e.g. mobile phone, tablet or readyMax)
  2. If possible (not possible with readyGo and readyMax), close the ready2order app and, if applicable, also the SumUp app
  3. Make sure the SumUp Air card reader is not charging
  4. Turn off the SumUp Air card terminal (Hold the power button for about 3 seconds)
  5. Press and hold the power button again until the message “Release for BT” appears on the display and you hear a beep. Then release the power button

The connection has now been reset. Please wait for a second beep before connecting the card terminal to a device again.

  1. Now activate Bluetooth again on the device with which you want to connect the SumUp Air card terminal
  2. Start the ready2order app on this device (if you are using a readyGo or readyMax, restart the app or reboot the device)
  3. Start a payment with SumUp to reconnect
